Food Bank
Each Friday volunteers pack bags of food to be distributed to needy families identified by the Lancaster County Council of Churches. Non-perishable food can be dropped off at the Unitarian Universalist Church, which is located at the corner of Pine and West Chestnut Streets in Lancaster City, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Collection baskets are located in the church lobby, accessed by entering the glass doors of the center. Tax-deductible financial contributions can be mailed to UUCL, 538 West Chestnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. Please make checks payable to UUCL, and note “Food Bank” on the memo line. If you would like to roll up your sleeves and become more involved, volunteer opportunities are available. For more information please contact the Food Bank here.
Much of the food is bought at very low cost from the Central PA Food Bank.
We are rich only through what we give, and poor only through what we refuse.
